Brity work in partnership with British Red Cross and St John Ambulance on first aid training and education.
They have put together a free page for this area showing the defibrillators in and around Newnham, along with a printable poster for noticeboards, churches and community centres, and a short free online course covering the basics: spotting a cardiac arrest, CPR, and using a defibrillator.
In research by St John Ambulance, 52% of people said they did not know where their nearest defibrillator was. When one is used within the first few minutes it makes an enormous difference to whether someone survives. Brity hope that by working with local communities they can improve that.
