Cllr Simon Shenton

I was brought up on the Isle of Wight and have lived and worked in Edinburgh, Milan, Verona and Northamptonshire. I moved to Newnham with my wife Rachael in 2020 and together we bring up our boys George and Stanley as well as our Fox Red Labrador, Charlie.

I have a degree in International Business and Languages and speak fluent Italian and Spanish. The first part of my career was spent within the paper manufacturing industry where I held various sales and marketing positions both in the UK and abroad. For the last 13 years I have been Managing Director of a plastic extrusions business operating in the packaging industry, based in Wellingborough. I have a team of 50 employees in the UK and another 35 staff based within our offices in Spain, Italy, India and China.

In my spare time, I am a definite petrol head and enjoy restoring and displaying my classic cars as well as riding my motorbike. I also enjoy music and play both piano and trumpet.

I look forward to contributing as much as possible to the Parish Council with a view to help sustaining and improving our beautiful village
